Discover the transformative power of the Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT/Tapping! This effective process for personal growth is easy to learn and will be a lifelong coping skill at your fingertips.

The Emotional Freedom Technique is commonly referred to as EFT or Tapping. EFT is an evidence-based method that combines elements of exposure, cognitive therapy, and somatic stimulation. Simply put, we tune into specific physical or emotional distress while using the fingertips to tap on designated points on the face and body. While it is beneficial to work with an experienced practitioner, EFT is a self-help method. Clients apply the process by tapping on themselves, while guided on where to tap and how to effectively tune into the issue. Because EFT often results in significant and rapid shifts, we check in frequently throughout the session using a scale to rank distress/discomfort.

What is EFT?
WhaT CAN I EXPECT?
I share my story to offer hope to others like me, people who persist in spite of it all and are willing to go to any lengths to overcome their past so they might have a better future.

My childhood was filled with violence, abuse, secrets, and lies. In desperation, I broke the family code of silence by telling my middle school counselor about what was happening at home. No one believed me, and with no safe place or adult I could trust, I left home. I had no clue what horrors awaited a 12-year-old girl, homeless and alone on the streets. I became trapped in a predatory world of trauma and addiction. I didn't think I would live to be 18, yet somehow I survived.
I entered adulthood ruled by fear and pain avoidance. Life tossed me around, and I felt powerless to do anything but land on my feet. For years, I looked for the right person, place, pill, relationship, job, or financial status to fix me. I felt helpless, hopeless, and worthless. By age 21, I was married with two kids and a mortgage, thinking I could hide my past and my pain behind a facade of normalcy. From the outside, it may have looked like the American Dream, but on the inside, I was tormented with self-loathing and undiagnosed PTSD.

In 2001, I discovered The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I was skeptical, but the concept sparked a bit of hope and willingness to try just one more time. Thankfully, I quickly knew EFT was the solution I'd been searching for. I learned how to address and relieve the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual distress that I had endured for years. It was no 5-minute miracle, but with consistency and determination, my symptoms subsided. All the while, my optimism and self-esteem grew, and I became motivated to seek addiction recovery support. This newfound belief in myself led me to make better choices and create a life far better than I imagined possible.
As I healed, I felt compelled to share EFT's benefits with others and studied for years under EFT Founder Gary Craig. Over time, I developed a gift for holding space for people to share experiences of deep pain and tragedy. Although the exact nature of our stories may differ, we can connect at the level of feelings. I believe nothing fosters trust and safety faster than believing you will be understood and accepted without judgment.
